SAUGUS, MA – An elderly pedestrian was sent to the hospital after she was hit and pinned beneath a pickup truck in Saugus Monday night, according to Mass Live.
The accident happened near 69 Sweetwater Street at about 7:10 p.m., when a 70-year-old woman from East Boston was hit by a Chevrolet pickup driven by a 59-year-old man from Saugus and became pinned underneath it. She was still conscious and responsive when emergency crews arrived and freed her.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
No other injuries were reported in the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
