CANTON, MA – A Massachusetts state trooper was injured at a gas station in Canton yesterday after being dragged by a motorcyclist attempting to flee a conversation with the officer.
According to the Middletown Press, the accident happened on Route 138 at about 10 p.m., when the trooper—who was not publicly identified—attempted to talk to two motorcyclists.
Reportedly, motorcycle races had been happening in the area around that time.
Before the officer could speak with them, the motorcyclists attempted to flee, and one of the bikes collided with the officer. He was dragged a short distance into the roadway before the motorcyclists fled the scene.
The officer received minor injuries as a result but declined to be taken to the hospital.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and to search for the motorcyclists involved.
